Today in Lisbon, we celebrated a significant milestone with the inauguration of the first Agrovoltaico® plant in Portugal! Thanks to REM TEC's mono-axial technology, the plant was successfully installed on an existing vineyard, showcasing how renewable energy and agriculture can coexist harmoniously, even in challenging terrain conditions such as steep slopes. The energy produced will be self-consumed, further enhancing the sustainability of the project.
This project, commissioned by Galp in collaboration with the University of Lisbon Universidade de Lisboa (Department of Agronomy - ISA), brings innovation and sustainability directly into the heart of Portuguese viticulture, opening new pathways for agricultural production and clean energy generation.
This project demonstrates that the future of renewable energy also lies in our agricultural traditions.
We are excited to be part of this pioneering step for Portugal and look forward to seeing the long-term results of this innovative system.
